Working with Curt on these illustrations has been great fun. There’s a good deal of checking that’s required to make sure that characters look right and that there are no inconsistencies between the written word on the page and the illustrated scene. It’s easy to forget half way through that a character has changed their clothes! This happened with Tubby during the illustration process, necessitating a few revisions!

Seeing characters and scenes move from my imagination onto a page is an amazing process that makes me grin proudly every time. Curt is amazing though, reading the story carefully and depicting scenes with both flare and care.
