Dragonspire – Meet Kthar!

So, as my current middle-grade fantasy novel, Dragonspire moves into its third draft, I now have a little friend to cheer me along.

Meet, Kthar…

This little fellow is the product of my imagination and the amazing sculpting skills of Felicity Lloyd-Coombes (http://www.lloydcoombesceramics.co.uk/lloyd-coombes-ceramics/) whom I was lucky enough to stumble upon when I accompanied my wife to a ceramics fair!

Kthar (pronounced ‘K-thar’), also known as ‘Scruff-bag’  (for obvious reasons!) was born just a couple of months ago and spends most of his time on my desk.

Interesting facts: –

  • he’s still too young to fly

  • his favourite food is dandelion leaves

  • and he snores!

Right now, he’s making sure that I press on with this third draft so that I’m that little bit closer to bringing his story to life.

Whenever I write a story, I always want to find a way to make the characters come alive, not just on the page, but in real life too. In some way, that enhances my enjoyment of the writing process. I think it’s the child in me wanting a new toy! Kthar joins the figurines I had 3D printed from my Skinny Finny books.

I’d better get back to work!
